Hi, I’m Finne! I fell in love with the Portuguese language and the art of translation during my applied language studies at Artesis Plantijn University College Antwerp and today I work as a literary translator and barista. In 2015, I was selected for a master course in literary translation at KU Leuven and Utrecht University. In 2018, I received a mentorship for emerging literary translators from the Dutch- Flemish Centre of Expertise for Literary Translation (ELV). In 2021, my first book translation, a Portuguese young adult novel, was published by Dutch publisher Querido, the start of many more book translations. Several of my translations of Portuguese short stories have been published in literary magazines in Flanders and the Netherlands.
