The Cornbread Library

The Cornbread Library is the place where we will celebrate the literary work of leading Black writers such as Hooks, Baldwin, Du Bois, Danticat and Kincaid.

Whereas the traditional literary canon is dominated by the work of white authors, our Library recognizes the breadth, the power and the beauty of Black literature. Experts discuss specific subjects, loving connoisseurs present important books and various artists will perform. The Cornbread Library was conceived of and realized by Babs Gons and Simone Zeefuik. On Friday, October 13th, the Library is dedicated to the following subjects: LGBT in Black Literature, Activist Literature, Diaspora Literature, The Writings on Slavery & Slave Narratives.
