Roots! is a program about the influence of literature on a person’s artistry.

In a column, five artists that can’t be pinned down to one specific country provide answers to questions such as: which literature did you encounter as a child? Did you read books that were related to your roots, or (deliberately) not? In what ways have these works shaped your voice as a creator?

Each speaker creates an interpretation on the theme within their own discipline; each reads a column, some supplemented with visuals and words. Subsequently the guests will discuss: are there any similarities? Do they recognise themselves in each other’s stories?
