Roos van Rijswijk published prose and poetry in several literary magazines. Her debut novel Onheilig (Unholy) (Querido) was awarded with the Anton Wachterprijs.

She also wrote Wat ben ik meer dan stilte (What am I more than silence) (prose and poetry), Calligram (together with Niek Hendrix, poetry) and De olifant van de bovenbuurman (The upstairs neighbor’s elephant) (short stories). For NRC Handelsblad she reviews translated literature. Together with Ronald Ockhuysen she presents the monthly event Letteren Live.
