Nihat Karataşlı is an interdisciplinary Turkish artist, living in Istanbul and Chicago where he is a MFA candidate at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago. He hold a BSc. degree in Computer Science and a BA. degree in Visual Communication Design from Istanbul Bilgi University.

He was awarded artist residencies at Koç University KuarLAB (Istanbul, Turkey) and Art Center Nabi (Seoul, South Korea) and has been part of exhibitions in Turkey, South Korea and the US. He recently gave artist lectures about his research in queer spaces, virtual intimacy and neuroculture, in art centers like Borusan Contemporary, Akbank Sanat and YKY Kültür Sanat in Turkey. Together with Inez Piso he initiated the interdisciplinairy HüzünProject.
