Aslı Özgen-Tuncer is currently teaching film at the University of Amsterdam.

She completed her doctoral thesis at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis on the aesthetics and politics of cinematic pedestrianism. Also a film critic, Asli has contributed to several edited volumes, festival catalogues, and popular magazines as well as speaking at various panels.
