Opening Night: The Curators’ Guide to Morocco

10 Oct 2019
19:30 uur

Which voices can you expect to hear at this edition of Read My World and what is the latest on the Moroccan literary scene?

During the opening night kick off, our curators Fedwa Misk (journalist and feminist) and Mahi Binebine (writer and visual artist) will tell us about the Morocco they want to present during this festival and why. They have selected a diverse range of authors, poets and journalists that they believe the Dutch public can’t miss out on. After this brief introduction, all festival writers will feature during various programs in the Writer’s Café, bringing you an even more dynamic Read My World opening night than you have seen from us in previous years!

Music will be provided by saxophonist Othman El Kheloufi, who effortlessly fuses jazz and his Morocccan musical roots, and by Widad Mjama, the Maghreb’s first female MC.

The opening is hosted by: Jörgen Tjon A Fong

Afterwards we continue the Opening Night at the Writers Café, where the bar is open till late!
