The characters in “Boiling Point” (translation) by Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad live in Brussels. Algiers. Paris. Damascus. Casablanca. Cairo. Amsterdam. Seven people, seven lives that take place in different cities and countries. And yet they touch each other’s lives and thus tell the story of a fragmented world, in which people love deeply despite everything.

Nisrine Mbarki Ben Ayad is a multilingual and versatile writer, poet, literary translator and programme maker. In January 2022 she made her debut with her poetry collection Oeverloos. The collection was nominated for the C. Buddingh’ Prize and the Herman de Coninck Prize.

The evening begins with an opening speech by Evi Hoste, editor of Pluim
