Absent spaces we carry
This event marks the conclusion of a writing workshop that took place earlier this place at the Perdu library in Amsterdam. Over the span of 6 sessions the workshop dealt with absent spaces and the role they occupy in our life as writers. Distant or abandoned places, childhood rooms, cities we once lived in. Ruminating on questions of what is real and what is a construct of our imagination, the workshop explored, through reading contemporary sources, discussions and exercises, the fluid border between reality and fiction, how by writing and retrieving these lost spaces, we save them from their ruin, but also we might save and shape our own identity and lend a new meaning to freedom.
During this presentation, some of the participants will read from the work that was developed during this workshop. Check out the line-up below!
Presentations will be in Dutch and English (without translation)
In cooperation with Perdu
