My name is Teddy Talapessy, also known as DJ Teddy. I was born in Hollandia (Jayapura) and have a Moluccan father and a Papuan mother.

For many years, I have been active as a DJ at parties, festivals, and cultural events both within and beyond the community. My musical style is a mix of soul, funk, disco, as well as Pacific sounds and lagu-lagu (Indonesian songs)—music that brings people together and creates energy, connection, and a sense of familiarity.

For me, DJing is about more than just playing music. It’s about creating an atmosphere where people feel connected, where different generations come together, and where culture and identity continue to be celebrated.
