Mirte Hartland is a singer-songwriter, or spoken word artist with guitar. With sung and spoken word, sound and song, she investigates where music and poetry intertwine. She sketches spatial landscapes, atmospheres and stories with a melancholic undertone. Her work deals with themes such as radical equality, queer love, the relationship between man and nature and the beauty of the everyday. From individual vulnerability she relates to social issues. Mirte wrote, created and performed performances at the intersection of poetry and music for various stages and festivals such as Oerol, Lowlands and De Parade. In addition to her creative work, she works as a programmer at Theater Bellevue and coaches young stage poets at Poetry Circle.
