Michelle Samba is an interdisciplinary artist. She works with voice, ritual, rhythm and language, in a practice that unfolds between performance, poetry, music and image.
Her work moves like a flock of poetic starlings, physical and elusive.
She creates ritual encounters that intertwine collective experience and personal expressiveness, often in improvisation and multilingual space.
She has worked with the Marina Abramović Institute, Lisette Ma Neza, Ursula Rucker and Claudia de Breij, and has performed for Poetry Circle, Explore the North, Spinvis and the Nacht van de Poëzie.
Michelle lives and works in Amsterdam.
