Laura Weeda

Laura Weeda (1976) lived in Indonesia for several years, after which she published the novel Voices from Paradise (Querido, 2022), about an enchanting world inhabited by fortune seekers, spirits, neo-colonials, and adventurers, set in Bali and the Moluccas.

In Thinking of Indonesia, she explores the same themes in essay form, including the story of Jeanne van Diejen, who was also known as Ibu Maluku.

Weeda is also the editor-in-chief of 360 Magazine, which selects and compiles journalism from around the world with the aim of bringing different perspectives to the forefront.
