Juliana has always liked words. As a child, in Brazil, surrounded by many languages, she had a refuge in the stories – her own and the ones from books. Years later, in her PhD in Ethnology and Indigenous History, searched for the right words to talk about the old stories and the history of the Apurinã people from the Purus Valley. Translated many of the stories with the partnership of the masters of the Apurinã storytelling. Researched the right words using regional Portuguese for the thesis and stories. Later, as a performing artist, told stories with movements language. Has also studied proofreading and book editing with the master Jiro Takahashi. Now lives in the Netherlands, the land of her grandparents.
