Elvira Nanariain is a writer, theatre maker, storyteller, connector, and speaker from Haarlem, the Netherlands. In her work, she weaves personal stories together with themes such as identity, intergenerational trauma, faith, vulnerability, and the power of healing. Drawing on her Moluccan heritage, she explores how collective history continues to shape the present and how art can create space for connection, gentleness, and liberation.
In her performance Breaking Free (Losbreken), Elvira combines storytelling, theatre, and personal reflection in a compelling exploration of breaking away from inherited patterns and beliefs. Through her candid and heartfelt style of storytelling, she creates opportunities for recognition, dialogue, and meaningful encounters, addressing themes that often remain unspoken.
