Asha Karami writes poetry, plays, and essays, and collaborates with Johan van Dijke on poetry films. Karami’s debut collection, Godface (De Bezige Bij, 2019), was nominated for the Herman de Coninck Prize, the Grote Poëzieprijs (Grand Poetry Prize), and the E. du Perron Prize, and was awarded the Charlotte Köhler Scholarship. Her play, Froid en Vitiligo, will be published in the fall of 2025 by Opwenteling publishers, in the De Kreeftafslag series. In addition to her literary work, she is a physician.
