Mikayla Vieira Ribeiro (she/her) was born and raised in Curaçao. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English and Black Studies, and a Research Masters in Literature focused on ecological healing in Papiamentu fiction. Along with playing capoeira, Mikayla enjoys writing, reading, and translating poetry amongst her five languages, connecting with the territories that have shaped her, and building community with her queer and trans, caribbean and latinx, (chosen) family. She currently lives in Amsterdam, and works as a middle school teacher and librarian.
